CARIBBEAN GOSPEL FESTIVAL 2006 IS FREE!

Aug. 30, 2006 - New York, NY –August 30, 2006 – The Caribbean Gospel Festival is resolute in becoming the ultimate Caribbean Gospel music event. To this end, organizers have taken a bold step, by making this year's version FREE, in a Brooklyn, NY Park, with a sizeable stage and matching sound system.

The music showcase will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Lincoln Terrace Park, Brooklyn, NY (at Buffalo Ave & Eastern Parkway). It will, once again feature Caribbean-style, gospel music from international, regional and local artists. The event kicks off at 2pm.


Confirmed artists on this year’s line up includes international Dancehall Gospel reggae power voice DJ Nicholas from Jamaica, former Grenadian Calypso Monarch, Janice Charles, and DJ Ordinary from Florida. Also sharing the stage will be local group KOTIJ Crew, a four-man team that blends razor-sharp lyrics to heavy pounding soca and reggae beats, along with L-egant, Dion Bocage, Doyle Whiteman and many others. Organizers are keeping mum about the complete roster, since there would be some delightful surprises for those that attend.


According to organizers, "With this year's Festival, we have met our goal of making this an annual event. Furthermore, we are not just about coming out here to be heard or make some noise; we want to make a positive impact on our community. We are bringing a message of hope through the music. So while the beats may seem common-place, there is a clear message to be heard. That's why the theme for the festival is "the riddim will be driven, but the message is clear".
