Emrand Henry: I was born in a small community in St. Lucia called Fond St. Jacques but now live in another community called Mlillet. My mom is not a Christian and my dad is a Pastor in Trinidad and Tobago where he lives with his wife and three kids, one boy and two girls who are my sisters and brother. His wife is Trinidadian making my brother and sisters Trinidadians. I was raised by my cousins in St. Lucia who are very strict and are Christians, because of their strict ways and support to my music career I am who I am today. God Bless Peter and Julia Julien

GR: How did you begin doing music?

Emrand Henry: I started singing as a worship leader in church and then was discovered internationally in my country when I won a singing competition called the Cable and Wireless Star Quest in 2004. It is just like the American idol competition where everyone votes for you via text message. It was a televised competition and I won it with the most votes. Since then, I have worked with lots of renown producers on my island namely: Leebo, Patrice Regis, Christopher Niel, TC Brown and others.

GR: Tell me, how did your name come about? Any obstacles with it--funny mispronunciations, etc?

GR: What is the most valuable lesson that you learned from your Mom or Dad growing up that you still apply today?

Emrand Henry: I learned that you have to work hard for what you want and never forget to put God first in everything because His Word is higher than His name.

GR: I know that you have written a whole heap of songs in the past, but what's your favorite one? Now, if that is too hard for you to answer, then tell me this; if you spent 5 minutes with an avid reggae fan and only had enough time to play them one of your songs, which one would you play them?

Emrand Henry: Consume Me on The Arch Angel Riddim.

GR: What were the last 5 CDs that you put in your disc changer?

Emrand Henry: St Mathew-Armageddon, Stitchie-Real Life Story, DJ Nicholas-On the Shout, Koen Duncan, Sherwin Gardner-Closer and Tiko and Gitta

GR: What is the best audience that you have ever played in front of?

Emrand Henry: Francofolies in La Rochelle, France. A crowd of 21,000 screaming French people, lol.

GR: If you could whisper in the ears of youths aspiring to start a music ministry like yours, what would you say?

Emrand Henry: Be patient ,it doesnt happen overnight.

Emrand Henry: Yes, I am working with producers from France and St. Lucia. I will be on a few compilations in St. Lucia, Trinidad, Grenada, and France.
