Reggae Legend Carlene Davis has released her first album since 2002 entitled "Author and Finisher," on the Glory Music Label. Penned along side her husband Tommy Cowan, the lyrics are uplifting and righteous. 14-Tracks of signature smooth vocals atop tightly knit production, this album has guest appearances from fellow artists Prodigal Son, Tamara and Nicky (from Forgiven).

The title track is atop the infamous Diwali Riddim and will surely knock dem fi dead or fi life however you choose to see it. Husband Tommy, joins her on "Any Means Necessary." The couple's smooth vocals coat a bubbling synth-driven track, which can induce an infectious body sway. Carlene is a master when it comes to collaborations. In her previous releases, she has been known to combine her Gospel-rich vocals with the rough and gruff deejay stylings of such artists as Papa San.

On this release she also teams with Prodigal Son to create a contrast of extreme polarities that just seems to work--and more importantly, work well. Her velvety smooth vocals meet with his staccato dancehall lyrics to create a sturdy balance of Praise and Worship and Dancehall. Although the hook is an obvious play on the popular "Macarena" song, you'll catch yourself singing along to the new lyrics, which Carlene has penned to this familiar melody.

Author and Finisher is a medley of harmonious vocals mixed with standard and innovative Caribbean vibes. Carlene proves once again that she is still one of the leading female vocalists in Reggae Music worldwide.
