ALBUM DESCRIPTION
Roots, Roots, Roots. Need we say more?
If you loved him on the "Youth Stand Firm" track on the Lion of Zion Entertainment, "Reggae Redemption Songs" you'll definitely enjoy this album. The sophomore and latest release from one of the most talented and profound reggae gospel artists, Monty G, is filled with more roots than you can shake a Riddim Invasion CD at.
Bro. Ramont "Monty G" Green continues to excel and blaze new trails for gospel reggae and dancehall. Listeners will be captivated by the harmony of the beautiful strings, the uniqueness of his voice, and the message in his words. Laced with powerful, melodious lyrics, each successive track is sure to leave a good impression, and have you begging for more Monty. Actually, with no collaborations at all on the album (it's just Monty alone), I still yearn for more of the goodness that is "Until Life."
"Until Life" opens with an intro that is both unique and ingenious. The instruments seem to just flow with the sound of his indescribable voice. Each track thereafter is so powerful, that it is impossible to pick just one favorite. As mentioned before, roots is very dominant on the album, with a few noteworthy exceptions. "Big Time Sell Out" is an upbeat, almost synth-reggae tune that makes you want to get up and move {for Christ, that is :)). There is also a ska version of "Whose Name," an excellent song focused on the youth in times of trouble.
There is never a dull moment on the album, from the passionate plea of "Higher" and the so-true words of the "Righteous Nation" interlude, to the ever-needed comfort and encouragement in "Brighter Day" and "Give It All You Got", this album delivers. Much praise is to be given to Monty G, the whole clan that is Lion of Judah Sounds and Creative Soul Entertainment, and last but not least Jehovah Jireh, for this incredible and timely album in this day and age. We anticipate more from this talented artist in the near future, perhaps even a third project. :)
