ALBUM DESCRIPTION

The 16- track disc features contributions from Prodigal Son's fellow gospel comrades Shelly Thunder, Jai, Prodigy, Mr Goddy Goddy, Tamara Clarke as well as his brother Jason Mighty.

A former gang member, Prodigal Son (Calvin Whilby) was born in 1976. He was raised by his grandmother in a Christian household. He accepted the Lord in his life at the age of five, but negative influences in the Kingston inner city where he resided caused him to sever his Christian connections at the age of 15.

"My music is most definitely making an impact. The people are appreciating it. I can see the fruits of my labour. Some will never appreciate it, but I appreciate that because they are my motivation to go on," Prodigal Son.

He recently started up his Radikal Management Company in what he claims was a move to manage his own affairs and to have a direct input in the decision-making process. "I have a say in things and it's a more comforting feeling."

"Recharge was born out of a vision that I got after being to several gospel concerts, and sometimes seeing some young people who want to go and see the artistes, but they cannot afford the cost. I wanted to offer them something at a lower cost. I have done it two times before and it had always been free. This year it's a contribution to offset costs. I usually have it out after the exam break and that's the reason why I call it Recharge, so that they can re-energise themselves," Prodigal Son explained.
