ALBUM DESCRIPTION
Born in Kinston, Jamaica over 25 years ago, Fiona Robinson delivers to us her second gospel reggae album titled "He Cares", released in the U.K. "He Cares" is an excellent complement to her first album in 1999, "Fiona's Moment." You are not getting your traditional gospel reggae album here, but a gospel album with spices of jazz, hip-hop and some R&B influences.
Fiona comes from a family of musicians, so it is no wonder she can serve us up a masterpiece like "He Cares." Fiona was discovered as a musician while singing to herself one day, while she was on hold on the phone. We have Kevin Simmons to thank for bringing these wonderful tunes to our ears. Fiona has many female vocalist influences, ranging from Pam Hall, Marcia Griffiths, Chevelle Franklin, Gladys Knight, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle and many others. Fiona is a two-time winner of the "Female Vocalist of the Year" award. In 2001 she won this award at South Florida's Reggae Soca Awards Show. Fiona delivers some smooth, velvety lyrics on this album that warm and support your soul.
Our Lord's message is vibrant and easily heard throughout the tracks on this album. Make sure you check out track 3, "Blessings" - an extremely inspirational tune that leaves you eager for more. Track 6, "Life's Road," is one of my favorites. Track 8, "He Cares," reminds us of the loving and merciful nature of Our Lord. Track 10, "He Touched Me," picks up the tempo a bit, delivering some traditional ska-like rhythms. Fiona's "He Cares" is a must for your collection! You can never have enough awe-inspiring, smooth female reggae vocalists in your collection!!
