ALBUM DESCRIPTION

No matter where we live, from the ghettos of Trenchtown to the mansions of Beverly Hills, no one is immune to spiritual poverty. Although different social classes have different problems, the answers to those problems are the same. Only the redemptive power of Jesus Christ can save us from our own spiritual ghettos. This... is "Ghetto Redemption". Jah Pickney's third album is full of heavy street-grade dancehall rhythms and smooth lyrical chats. Tim "Jah Pickney" Linnard continues to grow as an artist and put Canada on the Christian reggae world map.

With Ghetto Redemption, he puts another stake in the ground to claim his spot in the Christian dancehall arena. By far Pickney's best work, Ghetto Redemption features several guest appearances by Dancehall heavyweight BLESS (aka Prodigal Son) and Dunamis, as well as fellow Canadian producer/artist Jah Servant (guitar and melodica). Stand out tracks include "Roots", a roots/danchall hybrid track that includes a solid hook and a great message. "The Serpent" is a tuff dancehall track with upful lyrics and a toxic riddim. "Praise Him 2005" is a contemporary melodica dub track performed by Jah Servant which is similar in sound to the Abyssinians "Satta Massagana". "He's Real" has a memorable hook with a message everyone can relate to.

Overall, The album's packaging and artwork is top notch. Jah Pickney has taken a few more steps in the right direction as he continues to shape his sound. Just take a listen to the sound clips and you will be blown away at how much this former youth has developed over the years. Both as a deejay and producer, this artist (who has a tone similar to Degree) is sure to grab your attention. Pick up a copy of Ghetto Redemption today and add some authentic dancehall to your gospel reggae collection!
