ALBUM DESCRIPTION

Junior Tucker is a former child prodigy that became an adult reggae star in Kingston, Jamaica's cutthroat music community. From the 80's and throughout the 90's, Junior Tucker built a reputation as one of Jamaica's foremost secular reggae artists and delivered hits like "Don't Test" (1990). A few years later, he became born again and gave us something "Brand New" and then made us "Ready for the Rapture". Since then he has been a staple in the gospel reggae community touring the world representing Jesus Christ and the music of his homeland. Now a pastor, Tucker is married with three children and currently residing in Florida.

Junior Tucker has won the hearts and admiration of fans around the world with his distinctive gospel reggae worship sound. "Sold Out" is Tucker's third gospel release and his first live recording. It is an uplifting and vibrant worship album with a Caribbean twist. Junior is a seasoned professional and no corners were cut on the production or presentation of this album. This island praise and worship experience was recorded live at the infamous "Church on the Rock" in Kingston, Jamaica.

On "Sold Out," you will find yourself singing along with Hill Song, Maranatha and Hosanna Music classics performed with their own unique Caribbean flavor. Playing with a tight band full of crack-shot session players, Tucker also delivers some standout originals such as the title track, "Sold Out", (recently nominated for song of the year at the 2006 MAJA Awards). The roots reggae "Robed in Majesty" will soothe your spirit and the worshipful "I Give you My Heart" is sure to touch your soul. Standout tracks include the "No Turning Back Medley" (with references to Frankie Paul's "Kushumpeng") and Junior's bouncy ska take on "The Lord Reigns". On the soca infused "Jesus in You and Me", Junior chants, "The only Jesus that people see is the Jesus in you and me--let your light so shine, let God be glorified!" Amen!

Whether singing over traditional gospel, one drop roots riddims, pseudo dancehall beats or even bubbly ska, no one can deny this minister's conviction and heartfelt sincerity. This project is sub-titled "Worship from the Islands", so expect plenty of traditional worship with a bit of reggae flair. In typical Tucker style, Junior delivers his patent blend of gospel, with a touch of roots and a tinge of dancehall. Get ready to glorify God with a whopping 73 minutes of worship tracks that will challenge, encourage and leave you "Sold Out" for Jesus!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Junior was born in Trench Town, Jamaica, a place once known as the "musical hub" of the island. Trench Town was the birthplace and home to numerous Reggae Superstars, including the late Bob Marley and in 1966 music filled the air. Born into a family of singers, it was not strange that at 5 years old, Junior began singing for neighbors and passer byes and by age 7 had his first commercial #1 song.

During his 25 years as a Reggae Singer, he has held several international recording contracts with Island, Geffen and Virgin Records, and has been recognized as the "Reggae Singer of the Year" for several years. Junior has toured countries such Mexico, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and throughout the Caribbean.

Despite an illustrious career, Junior grew up in an abuse filled home and most memorable was the strained relationship he had with his father. Music and the stage became his refuge but at the end of the night, "something" was missing!
For 6 years Junior had not spoken to his father and began communicating again only when he became ill in 1995. In their last conversation, instead of arguing, his father encouraged him to seek God and to sing songs that would change people's lives, in 1996 his father died.

Now holding in his hands the loss of his father, numerous unresolved issues Junior found himself at a crossroads. That summer following the birth of his first child Chyna Joelle, Junior began searching for that "something". His first stop was Rastafarianism, (closely tied to Jamaican culture), next was Islam, and numerous others but all that come forth was confusion.

Having been plagued with nightmares for a greater portion of his life, one in particular left him tormented. Junior jumped up and knelt beside his bed and cried out to God for help, saying "God, I am tired... if you are REAL, let me sleep... tell me what YOU want me to do?" The Living God answered his cry and he awoke late the next morning, well rested for the first time in many years.

Junior knew without a shadow of doubt that he was a Christian. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and three nights later made his public declaration by singing at a Gospel Concert in Kingston, Jamaica. His walk with Christ began in 1997 and Junior has never looked back. In his own words "...there is nothing to go back to".

Today, God has transformed him from a mere singer to a worshipper and the anointing of God is evident in his life. God has taken him back to many of the territories where he sang as a Reggae Artist, to not only sing, but also preach and teach on worship.

Junior is currently the worship leader at New Harvest Church, Clewiston, Florida. During this period he has written, arranged and produced 14 songs on his 3rd "Island Flavored" Gospel CD appropriately titled "SOLD OUT". Junior is married to Trudy and is the father of 3 beautiful girls, Chyna Joelle, Zoe and Paige.
