ALBUM DESCRIPTION

From the first note of "Kingdom Ambassador," it is evident that the former Lieutenant is back with a vengeance. On "Fast and Pray," a song that has fueled this highly anticipated release, Stitchie names every artist that he can think in his signature rapid-fire style, begging the Lord for their salvation. This track is the perfect bridge between his previous effort, "Real Power" and this, the next chapter of Stitchie's musical career.

The four years since the release of his first gospel CD on Lion of Zion Entertainment have seen Stitchie mature in his faith and his sound. Though the word "Dancehall" is used in one of the descriptions on this page, besides a very few tracks (mainly "Fast and Pray" and "The Blood"), this is NOT a dancehall CD--it is primarily Gospel Reggae (with an emphasis on the world GOSPEL).

Long gone are the days of the digital dancehall beats by producers like Danny Brownie, Steely and Clevie, and Sly and Robbie. In-their-sted is a tight band that follows Stitchie's every command, playing mostly smooth gospel reggae--taking the bite out of what was once a fierce dancehall legend. Besides the jagged "Fast and Pray," for the most part the rugged edges have been polished over. The result is an awesome gospel reggae album with songs and the sounds that are more church-friendly than ever before. A great example of this is the sweet melody of "Gospel Reggae," a song that is bound to become an anthem for this burgeoning genre.

In this, his second Gospel release, Stitchie's production has also stepped up a few notches, with clean sounds and a wicked band. Beyond the amazing vocal harmonies by "Saved, Anointed, and Sanctified," (His back-up singers), the greatest addition to his repertoire is a sweet horn section headed by the legendary Dean Frasier.

Though this album may be less dancehall than his previous release, it is far more roots reggae. And on songs like "Are You Ready?", Stitchie reveals that he is ready to hang up his dancehall hat and replace it with that of a singer. And his voice and vocal sound is far more developed than the Stitchie that brought us "Thank You for Today."

On this unique album, this "Kingdom Ambassador" also dealves into ska (Protective Custody) and jazz (Fresh Vegetable). But as the album progresses, besides the final Spanish track, it seems that the tempos get slower and slower and less and less reggae (a pattern similar to that of 'Real Power"). But even the most gospel of the tunes still have that distinct reggae backbeat accentuated by drum and bass syncopations, making this album distinctly more Caribbean sounding than his last. .

Though he is no longer signed to Lion of Zion Entertainment, we are proud of all that Stitchie is doing. We congratulate him on this first-rate release and are privileged to be selling this title on our webstore.
