ALBUM DESCRIPTION

Reggae For Christ, Vol. 1, is a spirited collection of reggae praise and worship tracks from OFMB Records in Jamaica. Featuring such talented artists as Judy Mowatt (formerly of Bob Marley and the Wailers) and Katalys Crew, this is a well produced release with great artwork, extensive liner notes, and an enhanced interactive CD (which includes over 60 minutes of photos, music, interviews, and music videos). The overall style of the CD is roots reggae with a healthy dose of Caribbean gospel and praise and worship.


Mission statement from the producers and artists: "Reggae for Christ is a music ministry whose goal is to reflect the love of Jesus Christ through the music we sing and play. It is our aim not only to praise God through words and music but also to reflect His love through the tangible deeds of caring for our fellow man."

KATALYS CREW:
Katalys crew is one of Jamaica foremost band. Katalys crew has shared the stage with notable artists such as Kirk Franklyn, Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin. The crew has had chart topping success in Jamaica and is well on the way to achieving international acclaim.

JUDY MOWATT:
Judy Mowatt is one of Jamaica's most gifted artists. Her talents have blessed audiences for over four decades and she has also had a successful solo career. Teamed with Rita Marley and Marcia Griffiths, Judy has toured the world with Bob Marley as a member of the I-Threes receiving international acclaim. Judy has since given her life to Christ and is now one of the premier gospel artists. Her most recent solo project is called "Something Old, Something New", an album that exudes the love and joy of Christ.

ANDREW LAWRENCE:
Andrew is a man of God and a man of commitment. When you meet Andrew Lawrence, there is no denying this is a man on a mission--A mission to proclaim the virtues of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As the former lead singer of the reggae group "Change", he is gifted with a supreme voice and is not only one of Jamaica's leading vocalists but serves as one of Jamaica's premier announcers having done everything from T.V. to radio, animation voices; you name it, Andrew has done it. You will truly be brought into the presence of God when you listen to his anointed and captivating voice.

MICHAEL "MIKEY SPICE" JOHNSON:
Mikey Spice the son of a Preacher man. Michael "Mikey Spice" Johnson is one of Jamaica's most noted artists having topped the Jamaican and European charts several times. Mikey Spice is a very accomplished artist who plays several musical instruments including bass, guitar, acoustic guitar, saxophone and keyboards.

KEVIN DOWNSWELL:
Kevin is truly an anointed man of God and appointed for such a time like this. He is the 2003 Jamaica Gospel Festival winner for "Artist of the Year". Kevin is an accomplished singer, songwriter, and piano player.

TNJ:
TNJ stands for the initial of their Christian names TAMARA, NICKY AND JACKIE. Originally they started as back-up singers and worked with people such as Chevelle Franklin and Judy Mowatt. They are presently branching out on their own and in the process of making their own album.

KELLIAN BERNARD:
Twelve-year-old Kellian who started singing at the age of three, always believed that God would open doors for her to praise His name. During her almost one decade of performance, she performed for the Governor General of Jamaica at the National Stadium.

PAUL "LYMIE" MURRAY:
Paul is one of Jamaica's most notable recording artists with numerous chart-topping success. Lymie is noted as one of the premier vocal arrangers in Jamaica having worked with a list of the "Who's Who". Lymie also toured for over 8 years with Freddie McGregor around the world.
