ALBUM DESCRIPTION

Lion of Zion entertainment grooms another musical hybrid for your hungry ears with this astounding reggae/dancehall and rap/hip-hop compilation.

This benchmark LP contains a powerhouse of combustible hip-hop beats, drenched in Jamaican seasoning, and adorned by the best Christian rappers and reggae deejays the industry has to offer. The island of Jamaica collides with Jamaica Queens and everything in-between. In thick Jamaican Patois, East Coast and West Coast slang, the artists chew up the microphone with righteous lyrics for the soul.

HISTORY OF THE MUSIC
In the mid 1970's, reggae was thriving on the island of Jamaica and sound systems were set up on every corner, spinning the hottest songs on wax. To add diversity to their sets, DJs would also play the instrumentals of each song, while the MC's performed over the music with an enthusiastic combination of poetry and rhythmic catch phrases to liven up the crowd. This was the genesis. From its inception, this unique musical creation spawned two offspring--hip hop and dancehall (raggamuffin). While the original voicing stayed in Jamaica and evolved into dancehall, when taken to Jamaica, Queens by Caribbean immigrants, it matured into the greatest musical force in today's pop culture--rap/hip hop music. Separated at birth, these parallel genres created their own unique identities.

LOST SIBLINGS REUNITED
The two musical styles were first reunited in the secular industry in the '80s, when Run DMC recorded "Roots, Rap, Reggae" with reggae legend Yellow Man. This reggae/rap synthesis has heavily influenced releases by UTFO, KRS1, the Fugees, Lauren Hill, Bob Marley (Chant Down Babylon), Beenie Man, the Baha Men, and most recently Shaggy. In March of 2001, Shaggy's patented raggamuffin hip hop sound earned him the number one selling album in the world. At the top of Billboard's singles and albums charts, this mix of music and culture is having a tremendous impact on the general market. Now, over 20 years since their inception, these musical siblings have been sanctified for Christ, paving the way for their highly anticipated reunion in the Christian music industry.

ANTICIPATION
For years Christians have begged bookstores for music that can compete with the mainstream industry and offer a positive alternative to current hits in the general market. The timing couldn't be better for this bomb to drop, with the raggamuffin hip hop style topping today's general market charts.

FIRST OF ITS KIND
In this pioneering release, executive producer Mark Mohr of Christafari (the first to introduce reggae, dancehall, dub, African, and jungle to the U.S. Christian marketplace), invites you to experience another dynamic musical genre. Following the explosive general market trend of raggamuffin hip hop, this project is the first decidedly Christian alternative in its genre.

PACKED WITH HITS
With two albums worth of material, this unprecedented meeting of the minds contains 17 slamming tracks by over 26 artists hailing from the U.S., Jamaica, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Trinidad, Mexico, Tonga, Guyana, and Barbados.

SPIRITUALLY SPEAKING
All artists on this album are born again, baptized, and discipled Christians. Our goal with this release is to give Christians a positive alternative to the popular secular raggamuffin hip hop songs that have recently hit the top of the Billboard charts with their lewd and sexually explicit lyrics. We have also set out to take the good news to the street reaching with a unique presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a understandable language and musical style.
