ALBUM DESCRIPTION
The time has come to unveil a much-anticipated second chapter in our Dancehall Baptism series. The voltage on "DB2" is righteously destructive. Packed with head-swelling bass, Dancehall Baptism Chapter 2 contains 18 crucial tracks by today's top gospel dancehall artists such as Sherwin Gardner, new Lion of Zion artist Tiko & Gitta, Monty G, Christafari and more. The heat is turned up two notches with this second installment in a continuing series of definitive, sanctified, reggae dancehall--once again
baptizing the dancehall for Jesus Christ.
Dancehall reggae, also known as raggamuffin, toasting, chatting, chanting, reggae rap, DJ stylee, ragga, and Jamaican hip hop, is the sound of rapid fire Jamaican patois (pah-twa) vocals and infectious melodies over hypnotizing rhythms of pulsating beats and hard hitting bass. This genre is by far the most popular style of reggae. On any given week, approximately 70% of the albums found on Billboard Magazine's "Top Reggae Albums" chart are dancehall compilations. Born in the dancehalls of Jamaica decades ago, the style made its way to Jamaica Queens, New York, and evolved into what we know today as rap/hip hop music. Spread worldwide by names such as Shabba Ranks and Beenie Man, this predecessor of today's urban music in the USA continues growing stronger than ever, evidenced by the recent mega-success of mainstream contemporary superstar Shaggy. In the Christian market, artists like Christafari, Stitchie, & Papa San have been paving the way, coupling this same musical style with the positive and life-changing message of salvation in Christ.
