ALBUM DESCRIPTION
You first heard them on "Jah Servant and Friends" with the hit song "No Follow No Bad Man", now straight out of Jah Servant's Servant Records camp comes Sons of Zion's self titled debut album. With stellar production from Jah Servant himself, Sons of Zion is an excellent album for roots and dub fan alike. The album features six songs over original riddims with each song followed by its dub version for a total of 12 tracks.
Every single track on "Sons of Zion" showcases excellent production with perfect one-drop grooves, bubbling organs, and lead guitar rhythms that sound like they could have been stolen from old Bob Marley recording sessions! Even the mixing and mastering of the music on this album is top quality! These rhythms and textures make the perfect backdrop for Sons of Zion to lock in tight harmonies and sing Christ and God-Centered lyrics.
Starting with "Bless Him," Sons of Zion declare that their purpose is to bless the Creator every single day! This message easily segues into "Love and Unity," where Sons of Zion proclaim a simple but important message: "Jesus' love is what we need to attain true unity!" As the chorus drives home the message of the song, the Sons take turns on the verses explaining how we need one another to survive. The songs "On and On," "Dusty Bible," "Who Is There," and "How Many More," all share equally important messages and feature great vocal performances from these young Trinis (Trinidadians). Additionally, the dub versions of these roots songs thoroughly strengthen the quality of this release and make it an absolute must for GospelReggae.com dub fans. Order your copy today!
