ALBUM DESCRIPTION

Formed in December of 1994, Native Roots is a reggae group that hails from the sunny shores of Oahu, Hawaii. "Not Much Time" may be their first release on GospelReggae.com, however, it is actually their third recording after "See Again" and Tribute to My King." Fronted by Leighton Mendiola, a tireless evangelist, Native Roots are pioneers and undoubtedly the first gospel reggae outfit to come out of the Hawaiian Islands.  While remaining true to their Polynesian roots, the group surprisingly eschews the typical Jawaiian sound (Hawaiian reggae) that is so common in the islands. Instead they strive to record strictly roots reggae with a major evangelical tilt. Their ultimate goal is to fulfill the Lord's Great Commission to "Go into the world and preach the gospel..."
