ALBUM DESCRIPTION
Born, August 22, 1982, in St. Andrew Jamaica, Kerron Ennis is the fifth child of Lascelles and Derisa Ennis and grew up in the Patrick City community where her artistic ability has captured the hearts of many. She has been the choir director for the youth and combined choirs of the Boulevard Church of the Nazarene and has received the commission from the Lord to sing and to make His praise glorious. Her dedication for the Lord is indelibly etched into her motto of Acts 20:24, "but none of these things moved me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God."
In 2003, Kerron entered the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) gospel festival with the song "No Wonder," written by Clifton and Margaret Clarke. After placing third in the festival, Ennis has gone on to share the stage with many local and international artists including Michael W. Smith, Marvia Providence, Toby Mac, and Huntley Brown among others. On the local scene, she has performed alongside artists such as Katalys Crew, DJ Nicholas, Lt. Stitchie, Carlene Davis, Judy Mowatt, Papa San, and Chevelle Franklyn. She has also performed at the Spring Break gospel festival "Fun in the Sun", an annual event sponsored by Glory Music, where both international and local artists meet on the same stage.
Though all sixteen tracks on her debut album are strong and diverse, a few key songs stand out. Kerron's rendition of "Daddy Oh," feat. DJ Nicholas has become a huge hit in Jamaica and the Caribbean, with the song sitting at number one for three weeks straight in Jamaica and St. Lucia. Also, a guest appearance by Stitchie on "God We Need," has helped the song receive airplay throughout the international Caribbean community on Love FM, Irie FM, RJR, and Roots FM, as well as on stations in New York, New Jersey, Boston, Canada, and Europe. Other songs such as the rootsy "Grace," and the dancehall-infused "His Love," showcase Ennis' vocal and writing skills. Kerron Ennis has become one of Jamaica's brightest new Gospel artists, be sure to grab a copy of this exciting new album today!
