ALBUM DESCRIPTION
"Transformers" is the third installment in the Youth Alive series that releases every summer just in time for the Youth Alive Conference. This time around the album features more that the typical Bahamian trifecta; Monty G, Mr. Lynx and DJ Counsellor. In addition to these massive artists this incredible album boasts the likes of Mr. Danny, Emrand Henry, Ordinary, Avalanchee, Positive and the bombastic St. Matthew. Given the purpose of the project (the Youth Alive Event), this album is also a great opportunity for newcomers to have a voice. Artists like Overcomer, Ashley Newbold, Nash, Selector, Jah Bless, Unlimited Angel, Davrielle Burrows, Unity Movement, James Hepburn, Chariots of Fire, Stephanie, Nijah, Royal T and Mr. Scripture may not be familiar now, but they just may be tomorrow's bestsellers!
Compiled by DJ Counsellor, this project is an eclectic mix of both the familiar and the fresh. Whether it is sweet roots like "Unconditionally" (feat. Ashley Newbold), moving dancehall such as "Badness Outta Style" (feat. Overcomer), or bouncy hip-hop on "Transform Us" (feat. Nash), this album has a little something for everyone.
Stand out tracks include "Calling Me Home" (Mr. Danny), "World Domination" (Monty G) and the aggressive "If you Only Knew" (St. Matthew). Other noteworthy tracks include "I Love my Jesus" (DJ Counsellor), "I Will Survive" (Positive), "They Try" (Mr. Lynx) and "Move and Go Way" (Avalanchee).
With a whopping 22 tracks by over 22 artists, this compilation is the perfect recipe to set your summer ablaze and your soul on fire. The theme of this year’s conference and accompanying CD is "Transformers". While the title may be a play on the recent cinematic release, the topic is actually based on Romans 12:2 which reads;
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will."
