ALBUM DESCRIPTIONBlazing out of the Lion of Judah Sounds Crew, Fire Kid brings forth one of the best debut albums we've ever witnessed here at GospelReggae.com! On "Mind Over Matter," Fire Kid rides expertly produced riddims, smoothly transitioning between dancehall, hip-hop, roots, and culture/sing-jay styles. Coupled with hardcore Gospel messages, this CD is a must have for every single Gospel reggae fan!
Over a slew of well-known modern roots riddims, Fire Kid delivers incredible song writing and vocal performances. Roots fans should be sure to check out, "Know Who You Are," "Reap What You Sow," "Tried and Tested," "God Is My Light," and "Faith." It couldn't be more refreshing to hear a Gospel Reggae artist do justice to these riddims in a style that easily rivals the best artists in the secular reggae arena.
For fans of dancehall and hip-hop, Fire Kid merges the two with exciting results on "Realization" feat. Bruce Hype, "Send Dem Come," (over a great interpretation of the Sleng Teng riddim), and "Choices." With rumbling bass and driving hi-hats, these songs are sure to push any sound system to the limit.
Fire Kid also makes sure to include some incredible combination songs with Monty G on "Mind Over Matter," Troy Anthony on "The Truth," and St. Matthew on "Get Things Straight." These talented Gospel reggae artists help to make this excellent debut even better!
It's no secret that the Gospel reggae scene is seeing more and more talented artists come to the fore, and it is a blessing to finally have a full length release from one of the genre's brightest new stars. Make sure to grab a copy of Fire Kid's "Mind Over Matter," today! |

| Hands down the best record I've purchased on gospelreggae.com. The message is uncompromising and the riddims are all remakes of timeless classics. This record will not disappoint. Anyone who has had exposure to the secular reggae market will appreciate the riddims, and the lyrics Fire Kid spits are nothing short of pure testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. | I am more of a roots fan, but after sampling the album, I got on the train. It's worth a buy. Firekid stays true to the message. The collaboration with Troy Anthony (one of my favorite's)and the others gives the album the good appeal of variety. Blessings, Firekid! | ||||||||||||||||
